| Our Gatherings |
| We typically have a few gatherings throughout the month. |
| Moots |
| One of our gatherings is our shire business meeting, which we call a
moot. We go over the planning of our events, current projects we may be working on,
and engage in discussion about anything and everything related to our local group.
Our moots are held on a Sunday at the home of one of the members, starting at 6:00-6:30 pm
with a potluck meal and usually ending a couple of hours later. Moots are not held in
garb. Our moots are a great opportunity for any interested
parties to chat with shire members, and to ask any questions they have concerning the SCA.
Our meeting are informal, and we welcome all visitors with open arms and a glass of wine,
a pint of beer or something a little lighter.
If you would like to attend our next shire moot, drop an e-mail to our
Seneschal or the Chatelain and they will help.

| Sewing Guild |
The Vanished Wood Sewing Guild meets every two weeks to
work on sewing projects, socialize and help each.
|
| Ayreton Fighter Practice |
| The Province of Tree Girt Sea, Shire of Grey Gargoyles and Shire of Vanished
Woods all officially practice at the Grey Gargoyles site every Sunday of the month. We
call this the Ayreton Fighter Practice. Practices have been starting at 1pm If you are interested in participating in SCA combat, or are just curious, then
this is a good opportununity to witness the fighters of Ayreton in action. You will find
that all combatants are passionate about their fighting, and are always open to explaining
what SCA martial arts is all about, the weapons they use, the armour they wear, and the
safety measures that are in place.
