The Great Hall
As was true during the middle ages, the castle served as the focal point of the town and the great hall was the focal point of the castle. The great hall served as the center for meetings, gathering, feasting and entertaining. Therefore, here you will find the basic information on the Shire of Vanished Wood.
Moot
Every month, the freemen of a shire gather together to hold a moot where
they conduct the business of the shire and engage in lively disccussion.. Meetings are held on a Sunday at the home of one of the members, starting
at 6:00-6:30 pm with a potluck meal and usually ending a couple of hours later. Meetings are not held in garb.
Moots are a great opportunity for any interested parties to chat with shire members, and to ask any questions they have concerning the SCA. Our meeting are informal, and we welcome all visitors with open arms and a glass of wine.
If you would like to attend the next shire moot, then please drop an email to the Seneschal or the member hosting the moot.
The following moots are currently scheduled:
- August 24th - Aline
